Probity Acceptable Use Policy

Draft date: September 13, 2026

This policy is referenced by, and forms part of, the Probity Terms of Service. It is the short version shown at signup and linked from the product; the full acceptable-use terms are in the Terms of Service, section 3.

Using Probity, you agree not to:

  • Scrape marketplaces through us. Do not use the clipper, importer, or any other Probity feature to systematically harvest listings from a business-for-sale marketplace in a way that violates that marketplace's own terms of service.
  • Upload what you don't have the right to share. Do not upload a document you do not have permission to share, or that a confidentiality agreement prevents you from putting into a third-party tool.
  • Resell our analyses. Do not resell, sublicense, or redistribute a spread, Cash Proof, or any other Probity output as a standalone product or service.
  • Use our output for consumer credit decisions. Do not use Probity, or anything it generates, to make a credit, employment, tenancy, or similar decision about a consumer. Probity's outputs are not a consumer report and are not built or vetted for that purpose.
  • Build a competing product with our data or software. Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the software, prompts, or models behind Probity, or use the product to build a competing service.
  • Circumvent usage limits. Do not attempt to bypass the storage caps, rate limits, or per-account usage limits described on our pricing and product pages.
  • Upload malicious files or abuse the platform. Do not upload malware, attempt to compromise the security of the product, or interfere with other users' access to it.
  • Break the law. Do not use Probity for an unlawful purpose.

Violating this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account, as described in the Terms of Service, section 12.
